July 4th in Baltimore

Join us in Baltimore to celebrate the 4th of July.

Baltimore is home to many things "national":  national anthem, national aquarium, national bohemian beer.   We will be at Anchorage Marina in Canton, a short walk to a lot of shops and restaurants, a large grocery store, west marine, etc.

July 4:
Breakfast: Free continental breakfast in the morning.

Dinner: Ray Lewis barbecue for dinner on the 4th.
The restaurant is right across the street from the marina.  We will have a limited menu and/or possibly a buffet,  in either case, the cost won't be exorbitant and you will be able to pay at the restaurant.

Night: We will follow the meal with club-provided drinks on the marina pier in anticipation of the fireworks.  Marina provides band for dancing.

Cost: for drinks later: $5.00 ($10 if pay day of event-no exceptions.)

July 5:
We will have drinks on the pier from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Cost: for drinks: $5.00 ($10 if pay day of event-no exceptions.)
Munchies-bring one to share. Dinner that evening will be on our own.

Pay via Paypal below or send check to Back Creek Yacht Club, P.O. Box 3029, Annapolis, MD  21403. The form is a shopping cart.  So, add as many $5.00 persons / events as necessary - it's additive.  For example, one person for 2 events is $10 or 2 five dollar items.  One person for just drinks on the 4th is one five dollar item and so forth.

The Back Creek Yacht Club is one of the best bargains on the bay.

But, we still need to collect your event fees.  We offer the below function

to facilitate easy payment via Paypal.  Its easy and secure.

The form works best with Internet Explorer.

Frank Lautenberg NJ Senator

Dear Mr. Yates:

Thank you for contacting me about the "Clean Boating Act of 2008" (S. 2766). I appreciate hearing from you on this important issue.

In September 2006, a United States District Court ruling ordered the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to regulate ballast water discharges, and mandated a deadline of September 2008 to institute the program. While this litigation was aimed at ocean-going vessels, such as cruise ships, the court's ruling struck down an exemption instituted in 1973 that applied to the incidental discharges from all vessels, including recreational boats.

The "Clean Boating Act of 2008," introduced by Senators Boxer (D-CA) and Bill Nelson (D-FL), would restore the 35-year old EPA exemption for water-based, non-polluting incidental discharges that occur in the normal operation of a recreational boat, such as weather deck run-off and engine coolant water.

This legislation recently passed the Committee on the Environment and Public Works with my support. Please be assured that I will continue to support this legislation when it comes before the full Senate.

Thank you again for contacting me about this important issue.

About BCYC

Welcome to the “virtual club house” of Back Creek Yacht Club!
Listen to the BCYC Member's song written by our own Gordon Bowie

BCYC (affectionately pronounced “Backyak”) is now a little over five years old and has grown into the best “virtual” yacht club on the Bay. We have a good mix of sail-and powerboats and we get together for land and sea events on weekends throughout the year.

Our members are dedicated to enjoying each other’s company and the “Glory of the Bay”- for the most part- on the water! We have a full monthly schedule of events designed to appeal to all types of boaters; whether you cruise, sail single-handed or crew….we guarantee you will find yourself in with folks who care about you!

Since we are “virtual”, we take advantage of the many great venues available to us in the Annapolis area for our land events.  And when we are on land, we are usually just a few feet away from water.

What is it that we do at BCYC?

BCYC has regularly scheduled weekend rendezvous in local anchorages and marinas - reserve a slip, raft up or drop anchor alone. Either way you are sure to have a fun time!  If you enjoy the challenge of a longer cruise, we provide that with our Annual Club Cruise! There are so many beautiful spots to visit and explore on a well-orchestrated 9 day cruise. The destination changes each year and you have the pleasure of deciding how you want to participate- you can join in for some of it or be adventurous and go the distance. Our membership is as diverse as the boats we sail on and we have events and destinations for everyone. We are a very social club and always strive to optimize our fun on the Bay.

Our committees are well organized and provide our members with outstanding events through out the year.

Our Commodore’s Ball is the only formal event, but we have great fun getting dressed up for various theme parties, from James Bond spy activities to treasure hunts and Mexican Fiestas.

Do What We Do

Visit with a member and see why we are the best choice if you want to have fun on the Bay! Join us!!! Request membership information by completing our inquiry form OR Email Us.

What We Don't Have

We do not have a long waiting list, outrageous initiation fees, or expensive dues structure.

What We Do Have

We have experienced club and cruise organizers, outstanding members, and a great time at every event.
